   About The SAPCA

History:
The South Australian Professional Counsellors Association Inc (S.A.P.C.A) became an incorporated body on the 19th April 2006.  S.A.P.C.A is a non-profit Association that is dedicated to the development, education and advancement of counselling and counsellors in SA.

The South Australian Professional Counselling Association Incorporated (S.A.P.C.A.) is a new phase of the Australian Counselling Association (A.C.A.) presence in South Australia.

Previously we operated as a State Chapter and were charged with providing a forum for counsellors to come together to network, provide professional development and to build a member base.

The A.C.A. has encouraged each State to become an independent body under Incorporation to provide greater benefits to members through various developments whilst still maintaining the elements of networking and training.

S.A.P.C.A. has consistently and will continue to provide high quality professional development and exclusive training together with its annual conference. In 2007 there will be a clear pricing encouragement for members whilst still catering for non members.

Our website will compliment the Yellow pages listing and offers a permanent referral resource FREE to members of SAPCA.

S.A.P.C.A allows members to meet with colleagues to become aware of and

discuss state and local issues, employment, recognition of counsellors and raising the profile of the professional association.

S.A.P.C.A is recognised as a Member Association of the ACA, giving our members a greater level of support and information.

The ACA is internationally recognised professional body within Australia, having affiliations with the following associations:

International Association of Counsellors
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Canadian Counselling Association
The International Accreditation & Recognition Council.
